The aim of this project was to generate English subtitles for Japanese idols groups variety shows. I usually generate subs for shows that has no active sub groups. These subtitles are meant be used as last resort. For Subbing groups, feel free to use the subtitles provided here as starting point for your work.

What began as a small effort to bring forgotten shows back to life has grown far beyond my expectations, from a few selected titles to over 100 shows and 60+ ongoing projects. It’s been incredibly rewarding, but also demanding. The daily maintenance and coordination have become more than I can sustainably handle.
With that, I’ve decided to conclude the J-Idols project. The journey was absolutely worth it. Over time, tools like VLC, Subtitle Edit, and even Plex have evolved to include built-in AI subtitle support, making this kind of work much more accessible than when I started.
For those who still rely on my subtitles, I’ve created an AISub Bot on the Eito Discord, where you can submit requests for automated subbing and will automatically be uploaded to this folder. I’ll continue to work on a few shows I personally enjoy, such as Sakamichi series and certain YouTube channels, while everything else will move through the bot to keep things efficient and manageable. My close friends are welcome to continue directly contact me for requests.
